It's difficult for Australia to achieve unprecedented feats.

The highest peaks have been successfully scaled.

We're talking about the squad that has won seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to another six T20 titles, and earlier maintained over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a team that has achieved everything.

The fact it required up to Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to complete their first ODI chase over 300, regaining their record for the highest in the women's 50-over format, is, frankly, a testament to the pitchers that have sported the yellow jersey over the past 50 years.

It's challenging for their batters to hold a record if never given the opportunity.

Finally, the result of Australia giving up 330 runs was skipper Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to create her most recent brilliance.

Initially recognized as the young family member of celebrated previous Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she made her debut in 2010 after her country couldn't capture either of the 20 or 50-over World Cups held the previous year and has seen it all through 15 successful years since.

Success in the T20 World Cup happened three months after her bow and seven world titles have resulted from 10 efforts across formats.

The determined wicketkeeper was in attendance in Derby in 2017 when a semi-final setback by India briefly halted the winning streak.

That loss "pushed us to reconsider our benchmarks," Healy stated recently.

At the next 50-over World Cup in New Zealand, Healy hit 170 against England in the championship match and was awarded tournament MVP. She made sure her country would not fall short again.

The question of whether this newest brilliant performance exceeded that prior achievement remains open for discussion.

Certain people claim the case for championship match pressure. Others can counter with the difficulty that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and an enthusiastic Indian fanbase of 20,000.

What's definite is this century was considerably tougher to see coming.

The New Zealand onslaught in 2022 occurred when she led the batting statistics, but this innings followed six innings in India since the start of last month in which she had failed to pass 30.

"For those following me in practice sessions, it's been a disappointing period because it appeared I've had no rhythm at all," commented Healy.

"However when you take the field, your competitive nature activate and you simply focus on the competition."

Healy's competitive nature has always been her key asset - and an irreplaceable characteristic in taking over from famous previous leader Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's rising star Kranti Gaud in recent ODI series, out to the 22-year-old seamer in all three matches, but this time it merely gave Healy's motivation.

A single was taken off the bowler's initial ball and from that point the batsman was on her way.

"A chance to play and face the challenge with her and merely enjoy the moment in that regard, sort of got me going," commented Healy.

She achieved fifty in 35 deliveries - her quickest at the global tournament - and her century in 84 balls as she attacked short-pitched balls, striking 21 boundaries and three maximums.

When she was out the team needed 66 additional runs at a run-a-ball - an achievable target now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is unfamiliar ground so I'm pleased we have the assurance to do that now," added Healy.

"Preferably we shouldn't have to repeat it but, should it happen, we believe we can do it."

Those words will be the ultimate thing rival teams at this championship should hear.

During the last week a belief they will triumph from any situation has become more firm - this victory succeeding success over Pakistan by 107 run margin despite being 76-7 at one stage.

Following this Australia face Bangladesh before a match against longtime competitors England in Indore in 10 days, by which point a semi-final place may well be secure.

During that phase they exited the previous year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - an encounter Healy missed because of torn tissue in her foot as she led her country for the first time at a major tournament.

Such is her determination, she subsequently stated she wanted to have participated despite the injury.

However although she afterwards confessed those injuries have postponed thoughts of retirement, this championship is anticipated as her last as captain in one-day cricket and she is still to achieve a global event as captain.

Success in India would lead her to the peak of her final mountain.
